Just the endpapers contain 588 photographs – from the first band selfie that the bassist Mardoša took on stage in 1999, to a concert from the series organized by the Prague’s Dox Center for Contemporary Art on the occasion of the TATA30JS exhibition, to which TATALOG is a companion. Mardoša’s meticulous archiving forms the backbone of an almost four hundred-page publication tracking the history of Tata Bojs from the 1970s grade school setlists to the systematic analogue documenting of the Czech rock and roll routine decades before obsessive documenting entered the mainstream. The tenth chapter is the actual catalogue of the exhibition with which the band definitively settled in the white box of “artrock”.
