Aleš Najbrt spoke at the By Design! conference in Bratislava about twenty years of visual identities for Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Both professional performers such as Swedish showmen Snask, who look like some British sitcom version of the band Plastic People of the Universe, and designers who otherwise rather hide behind their screens talked about "functionality, real solutions and problems that preceded them." Austrian Stefan Sagmeister, who we were happy to see again after six long years, another Viennese Erwin Bauer, Philip O'Dwyer from London firm Method, Irene Pereya and Anton Repponen from Fi, or Polish specialist in newspapers Jacek Utko, they all had something to add to that.
