UNARTE, Bucharest, Romania
On April 25th 2013 Aleš Najbrt and Bohumil Vašák spoke on the grounds of UNarte, the Academy of Arts in Bucharest. Lecture for about 150 eager students was followed by a lively discussion on the functioning and sometimes the very existence of graphic design studios in the Czech Republic and Romania. Except for that, Aleš and Bohouš rode bikes, admired the architecture and atmosphere of former Paris of the East and today East Berlin of the East and ate Doradas in salt in hip restaurants. All that as hosts of the Czech Centre Bucharest, longtime success story of Czech cultural offices. Then, on the way to the airport, they have clashed head-on with the Romanian transport. Lesson for all: buckle up, even in the back.
