Almost all the church bells above Prague sounded on Sunday to welcome the first ringing of the bell Václav, newly placed in the St. Havel church in the Old Town. The bell, which was funded by a public fundraiser organized by the Charter 77 Foundation in honor of the 80th anniversary of the late President Václav Havel’s birth, replaced the predecessor of the same name missing from the church after the world wars. The studio Olgoj Chorchoj designed Václav and the typeface Santa Croce by František Štorm applied Aleš Najbrt, Zdeněk Trinkewitz and Marek Pistora.
