Mejla Hlavsa’s memorial plaque
"Milan Mejla Hlavsa worked in the shop and played in the club here in the 1990s," stands on a memorial plate, unveiled on the eve of what would be the 70th birthday of the late singer and bassist with the Plastic People of the Universe in the passage of the legendary Radost in Bělehradská 120 in Prague. Zuzana Lednická, who perceived the invitation of the initiator of the event Ivo Pospíšil as an honor as well as an opportunity to step out of 2D into 3D space, designed the plate as a stylized record made of matt metal. The text turns around on the LP and although Mejla played in this world for a shorter time than many of us would have liked, the longer he will sound in our ears.
