Zátopek
The logotype for the biopic of the legendary Czech runner is based on the modified morphology of the legendary Czech designer Ladislav Sutnar, divided in the middle by a track on which training Zátopek “ran around like crazy”. Or, on the contrary, defined by a line connecting two lifelong trajectories – of runner Emil and javelin thrower Dana Zátopková – under pressure of a politically skewed time. (In other uses, the logo is supplemented by the typeface Ladislav by Suitcase Type Foundry.) For the photos, we orchestrated the key moments of Zátopek’s career such as the pair’s kiss at the finish line of the marathon at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952 – only the hug with the always second Alain Mimoun is missing. And, being in the lockdown, we had to add the cheering stands in post-production.
