54 and a half in spring

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the regular 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival was moved from July 2020 to August 2021, but the organizers decided to hold at least a non-competitive screening of the year's most significant films with consecration from Sundance, Berlin, Venice and Cannes at the end of November 2020. The year number and the poster by Jakub Spurný were so cut in half, and we could only wish that the text would not disappear completely and at least the fall half would take place in full. The campaign took off – and almost simultaneously came a second lockdown that quickly dispelled hopes of further moving the shortened showcase to spring.
