33rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival

Greatly influenced by the self-censorship of the festival’s managers, this year’s promotion failed to reach our standards. The original poster showed the head of a dancer featured in the festival theme, upside down and overlapped by a logo consisting of two “3” digits marking the 33rd year of the festival. The photo was eventually blown up to show only an upside-down eye. Few of our other distorted photos with uneven mirror background were used in other festival prints. The theme was directed by Jan Hřebejk.
