Visual Narrative
Do they help or weigh each other down? Do they anchor or relieve themselves? The tense relationship between image and text that can be read in the title of Visual Narrative became the basis of the logo and visual style for the Prague and Copenhagen based photographic duo of Viktor and Nora Jelinek. Their focus is on “people, art and details”, so the 3:2 ratio of horizontal and vertical windows tied to the letters “i” and “l” inside the logo came out of the most common analog photo format in a family album (4×6"), 35mm analog film format (36×24 mm) and full-frame sensor size in digital cameras. The unity of style is maintained by a customized Roobert font by the Displaay type foundry, thanks to which the principle of the logo gets transcribed into typesetting and communication in print (portfolio, business cards, compliment, stamping) and online. The color scheme copies the tonality of VN’s photos and the subtlety of their approach to work.
