Marek Pistora

Marek Pistora (1973) is one of the most prominent Czech designers and typographers. He graduated from The Vaclav Hollar Secondary School of Fine Arts (1988-1992) and studied typography in the studio professor Jan Solpera at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (1994-2000). His poster for Merkur, one of his better-known typefaces, received a special award Le concours d'affiches "Etudiants, tous à Chaumont!" (1996). Since its start in 1995, he collaborates with legendary Czech alternative magazine Živel. In 2001-2008 Pistora was the art director of the important Czech weekly Reflex. He joined Studio Najbrt in 2011.
